Ura knocks on the door to the Tinkers Guild, where the party is still resting after their tiff with the Bone Devil.
Ura explains that she is trying to lead the people of Lyric. Someone styling themselves as “The Leader” tried to seize interim control and is taking her presence poorly.
The water is poisoned and the leader has seized the only antidote.
He has retreated into the Duke’s mansion and set off a bunch of traps. Ura has lost 12 red shirts trying to directly storm the mansion.
Ev tries to summon her patron to ask about the bone devil. Her patron briefly mentions that it is her business and the rest goes poorly.
The party heads to the mansion. Parts of the mansion are replaced with jungle.
After some bickering and some raven recon, they find the leader and 3 voices arguing angrily behind a dome near the roof.
The top of the roof is covered in runes.
Hanzo does some acrobatics with the immovable rod and then drops a rope allowing the party to make their way to the roof of the mansion.
The party tosses something on a rune, which triggers a massive cone of flame. The Roof Is On Fire
The party uses an Imp to fly the immovable rod with a rope tied to it and push the button. With the other end secured, the party tries to shimmy across this impromptu rope bridge without touching any runes.
Harloc falls on a rune and is singed. Cory also falls, but doesn’t trigger anything.
The party approaches the collapsed dome. Louis focuses his detect thoughts and discovers:
- Sam, the bartender is behind the wall
- The leader is in way over his head. They triggered some traps and angered jungle monsters.
Collapsed section around the dome. Blockage, requiring party to go down, then around.
Combat:
- Webs, which the party tries to set on fire
- Which triggers a brown mold expansion
- Also alerts the phase spider and spider swarms.
Party struggles dispatches spiders but struggles with brown mold.
Leader and thugs show up, offer health potion to help… at a price.
Party accepts their help and then immediately backtracks. Triggers combat with the leader and his goons.
Party is approached by Sam.
