  3. Third Priest - Status unknown

Chronology

The Ball

  • One priest accompanied Queen of Hearts to the ball
  • Queen had been changed to red livery, appeared influenced
  • When priest was knocked unconscious then killed:
    • First reflection shattered
    • Second reflection zipped around priest then shattered
    • Third reflection zipped around priest and went into the body
  • Body was taken for examination

Body Examination

  • Party investigated the priest’s body with servants
  • Found a small pile of bodies
  • Exposing body to sunlight revealed waves of darkness emanating from veins
  • Darkness was held at bay by tattoos
  • Body exploded in blinding light dealing damage

Mine Discovery

  • Party found grotesque remains of priests and workers in Cult of Darkness mine
  • All had tattoos similar to Prince of Darkness from Feywild
  • Bodies were pinned to the wall
  • Drummer Boy had killed them

Cult Mage

  • Party encountered mage with similar tattoos in the mine
  • Had claw familiar and ioun stone (Intellect)
  • Revealed religion details:
    • Three priests that follow their own whims
    • Relatively modern religion with central organizer
    • Only contracting with Viscount Bridgerton after he was humiliated
    • Weren’t intending to torture, merely extract information about party
