“Against the Wind” by Bob Seger is a reflective song about looking back on younger days, which the Shadowfell wind spoke to the party as a warning during the clocktower battle.

Description

During the clocktower confrontation with the Fifth Prophet, the whistling Shadowfell wind assembled a spoken warning over the course of the fight, drawing on this song’s lyrics (see 34 - Main 30). Fragments built up as the party made perception checks - “see the run,” then “Janie was lovely,” then “watch the young man run” - until, at full frenzy, it resolved into “watch the young man running against the wind.”

The warning paid off at the end of the session: as retrieving a set of pan pipes triggered a self-destruct explosion, Velden sprinted past the party, the “young man running against the wind.”
